Netherlands has the wood over England in T20 World Cup history
  1. Hong Kong beats Bangladesh (T20 World Cup 2016)

Hong Kong came over Bangladesh in a low-scoring thriller during the last edition of the tournament. Hong Kong spinners Nadeem Ahmed (4 wickets) and Nizakat Khan (3 wickets) ran through the Bangladesh batting lineup and dismissed them for 108 in 16.3 overs.

Chasing a low total, Bangladesh made things hard for Hong Kong batsmen. However, they crawled their way past Bangladesh’s target in 19.4 over with two wickets remaining.

  1. Netherlands beats England (T20 World Cup 2009)

The Netherlands have a wood over England in the T20 World Cup. Their first win over England came in 2009 at Lord’s.

Batting first, England got off to a flying start as Ravi Bopara and Luke Wright added 101 runs for the first wicket. They managed to set a target of 163 runs for the Netherlands.

In response, Tom de Grooth played the match-winning knock and scored 49 runs in just 30 balls. They needed seven runs in six balls. Edgar Schiferli and Ryan ten Doeschate scored five singles on the first five balls before winning on the final ball courtesy of an overthrow by Stuart Broad.

  1. Afghanistan beats West Indies (T20 World Cup 2016)

The eventual champion’s only loss in the 2016 edition, West Indies was shocked into submission by an unheralded Afghanistan on a turning track in Nagpur on March 27.

The Afghan spinners defended 124, taking five of the eight wickets while restricting the Windies to 117.

Afghanistan’s Najibullah Zadran was adjudged the Player of the Match for his unbeaten 48 off 40 balls.
