India and England are battling hard in a gripping final day where all three results are possible. Team India needed 10 wickets while England were 291 runs behind the target. Both teams can see a win and this makes the final day even more fascinating.
England openers Rory Burns and Haseeb Hameed started the day well and gave their team a solid 100-run opening partnership. Burns notched up his fifty and got out. Hameed got a reprieve as Mohammed Siraj dropped his catch. But India got lucky with Dawid Malan’s run out who Hameed asked to take a non-existing single.

England were in a good position by the lunch break but Indian bowlers came roaring after the break. Ravindra Jadeja dismissed Hameed before Jasprit Bumrah turned the match with his display of reverse swing as he clean-bowled Ollie Pope and Jonny Bairstow in consecutive overs.
Jadeja removed Moeen Ali as well. Joe Root was standing tall at one end and found good support from Chris Woakes. But Shardul Thakur clean bowled Root to take India towards the victory. The rest of the batsmen failed to show any resistance against Umesh Yadav, who took the remaining three wickets as India won The Oval Test by 157 runs as took an assailable lead of 2-1 in the five-match series.
Umesh got three wickets in the second innings while Bumrah, Shardul and Jadeja bagged two wickets apiece.
Rohit Sharma was adjudged the man of the match for his first overseas Test hundred, which he scored in the second innings to guide India towards what proved to be a match-winning total.
