Speaking about his IPL team, Wood quoted according to CSK website, “It will be an immensely proud moment for me to play for the Chennai Super Kings in the IPL. Making an international debut for England in 2015, Wood has played 10 Tests, 23 ODIs and 4 T20ZIs where he has claimed 26, 25 and 8 wickets respectively.

Apart from Wood, CSK has also some good international level pacers like Lungi Ngidi and Shardul Thakur. Talking about the competitions with them, Wood spoke out, “Of course there is pressure but that’s what really switches you on. It might not go your way every time but if you give everything you’ve got and commit to every ball, then, hopefully, you come out on the right side more often than not.”
